In a final match, Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist with remarkable batting led Australia to win over Sri Lanka by 53 runs (D/L method). Adam Gilchrist was man of the match for his extra-ordinery inning of 149 runs of just 104 balls and 3 victims behind wickets.
